I'm not afraid of no goblins or ghosts...
Halloween is always great fun in my neighborhood. The neighbors like to make it really scary with ghouls and coffins and spider webs. Bogie and Wrigley seem to be up to the challenge and kept us all well guarded against any unusual happenings. We had plenty of warning of incoming trick n' treaters and had our candy ready when they arrived at the door to forestall any tricks. Bogie even had time to listen to Daniel read a story to him. Once the danger was over, however, it was time for a good nap knowing all the family was safe.

The dog days of summer...
Bogie's first birthday is today. I thought it appropriate to share a little of what he did this summer. Mostly, it was run around the back yard, hang out at the pool, chew a few bones, and an occasional tug-of-war. All with his BFF, Wrigley. I want to be a dog.

I know how to cool off on a hot day...
Bogie has decided that sitting in the bubbler is a good way to chill off on a hot summer day. (The bubbler without Bogie is in the top right corner of the picture.) I'm trying to keep him from doing this, but my success rate so far has been low. Any ideas? Trevor bought Wrigley and Bogie a kiddie pool and Bogie gets in, but he's a little unsure yet. Look for pictures as the summer progresses.

Friends romp in an early Spring...
Several pictures with Bogie and friends as they played in the early spring warmth. We've had several days in March where it's been more than 70 degrees.

Is that call for me?
For a couple months now, Jeff, my next door neighbor, has asked Bogie to join him and Wrigley for walks several mornings a week. It's to the point that when the phone rings, Bogie thinks it's for him. This was the first day, however, for a "bicycle walk." Last year, Jeff taught Wrigley to go on his walks along side his bicycle. He even bought this contraption that mounts on the seat post so he didn't have to hold the leash. Today was the first time he brought Bogie along for the "ride." Jeff sort of daisy-chained the leashes and away they went. It appears that both dogs had a grand time. Bogie behaved well for his first walk this way and came home exhausted.

I want snow everyday!
Bogie just loves the snow. He has to find the tallest drift to jump in and dig his nose deep into. He also enjoys eating the icicles we pull off the roof. Bogie and Wrigley have spent hours chasing each other around the yard. When they come in, they have so many clomps of snow stuck to their paws, they sound like they have shoes with cleats on their feet.

Busy day at the office.
Bogie has a habit of curling himself around my chair legs while I'm working. In this shot, he's patiently listening to one of my many daily conference calls. (I wish I could give the same attention to my calls!) He's gained more than eight pounds since I picked him up from the breeder and his legs are longer.

Quality time...
I had to be out of town for a few days and Bogie did a "sleepover" at the neighbors. As you can see, Bogie and his best friend, Wrigley, put in some snooze-time together on Wrigley's favorite chair. They must have been playing hard earlier in the day.

Wrigley... you're my hero.
Just look at that adoring gaze.

No, that's not a cigar in his mouth... it's a rawhide chew stick!
I was patiently trying to take a good picture of Bogie to include with my Christmas cards. He just wasn't being very cooperative. I took about 50 shots and this was the best of the bunch.

Picking up Bogie from the breeder.
My neighbors and I drove to a fast-food restaurant in White Pigeon, Michigan, to meet and pick-up Bogie from the breeders. We all fell in love with him immediately. Bogie is a Laboradoodle and originates from Ohio -- Buckeye Kennels. His mom is a chocolate Laborador and his dad is the poodle. Bogie was born on September 11, 2006. Meeting Bogie for the first time is Wrigley, a cousin of Bogie's, and Wrigley's owners, Trevor and Daniel.
